The existence of different sectors in a social structure has often emerged as a tribe, clan or tribe in Anatolian societies. These structures have contributed to the operability of social life by exhibiting different duties and family-based differences within themselves, as well as fulfilling the duties assigned to them in the general society.
Demographic structure changes triggered by social migrations caused the collapse of states and the establishment of new states, and sometimes caused the destruction or disintegration of some families and tribes that grew and became strong enough to become overlords, and sometimes caused the recovery and strengthening of previously weakened families. As one of these structures, the Fettahoğulları tribe is known as a tribe that originally migrated from Central Asia. Sources record that they migrated with Turkmen tribes and settled in the city of Kufe in the first place and became Muslims. Later, the tribe, which migrated to Anatolia, was subjected to settlement in Van for a while by the Ottoman Empire, as they could not come to terms with the Bedirhan Mirleri, who were dominating in the east. Later, a part of the tribe was sent to Urfa and Siverek, while another part was settled in Trabzon, where the Greeks lived intensely. Fettahoğulları settled in this region contributes to the Turkification of this region. Fettahoğulları, who migrated to the Maraş region in large convoys in the following periods, started to regroup as a family and tribe by entering the research of origin in the 20th century. They still continue their existence with the associations and social institutions they have recently established.
