While laryngeal carcinomas are responsible for about half of head and neck carcinomas, glottic lesions constitute 60% of laryngeal carcinomas. Although glottic carcinomas tend to remain more localized, they also metastasize to paratracheal lymph nodes with subglottic spread in advanced stages. Although this metastasis rate is as low as 12%, it is not easy to reveal it with imaging methods. A case of glottic squamous cell carcinoma, which was evaluated as N0 by preoperative imaging and found to have paratracheal lymph node metastasis in the postoperative period, is presented along with the literature.
