Mankind faced a viral pandemic that made its impact felt all over the world almost a century later. The new humanepidemic known as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2), which has been detected in Chinain December 2019, has reached the pandemic level in a few months. As a light of the studies, it was understood thatSARS-CoV2 showed high similarity with bat and pangolin coronaviruses. Three new coronaviruses have been identifiedin the last twenty years, which originated from bats, infecting humans and causing serious disease including theongoing SARS-CoV2 pandemic. Although how these zoonotic coronaviruses, acquire transmission between speciescharacteristics still remain mysterious, there is a significant amount of knowledge in terms of infections causedby coronaviruses in animals, clinical symptoms, vaccine applications, prevention and control methods. Since allcountries are more or less affected by the disease and even the health systems and economies of some countrieshave come to the point of collapse, other coronaviruses that cause infections in humans and animals have becomethe most important agenda item in the world. This review aims to provide general information about viruses in theCoronaviridae family, as well as the host spectrum of coronaviruses and coronavirus infections in animals.
