SAANEN KEÇİLERİNDE ERKEN VE GEÇ LAKTASYON DÖNEMİNDE OKSİDATİF DURUM

Öz


AMAÇ: Metabolik parametreler, sağlık, reprodüktif ve beslenme durumlarının takip edilmesinde yaygın olarak kullanılırlar. Son birkaç yılda, serbest radikallerin meydana getirdiği hasarın ve bunlara karşıt olarak gerçekleşen vücut savunmasının belirlenmesi, klinik tıpta metabolik durumun değerlendirilmesinde tamamlayıcı bir araç olması bakımından, artan bir önem teşkil eder hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, saha şartlarındaki sağlıklı saanen keçilerinin erken ve geç laktasyonda antioksidan düzeylerinin iki parametre kullanılarak ölçülmesidir.


YÖNTEMLER: Bu parametreler; lipit peroksidasyonun bir ürünü olan plazma malondialdehit seviyesi (MDA) ve total antioksidan (TAK) kapasiteleridir. Aynı zamanda, antioksidan seviye göstergeleri ve diğer ilişkili kan parametreleri arasındaki mümkün olan bağlantılar da araştırıldı. Elde edilen sonuçlar, erken ve geç laktasyonda karakteristik metabolik değişikliklerin meydana geldiği sonucunu doğrulamaktadır. MDA ve TAK, hayvandaki internal fizyolojik durumun doğrusal bir yansıması olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Ayrıca, MDA ve TAK kombinasyonu, saanen keçilerinin metabolik durumları hakkında bütünleyici bilgiler sağlamaktadır.



BULGULAR: Bu yüzden, metabolik parametlerin bir göstergesi olan laktasyon başlangıcındaki düzgün metabolik adaptasyon; lipit peroksidayonu sonucunda oluşan yüksek serbest radikal seviyeleri ve sadece kısa bir zaman periyodunda meydana gelen yüksek MDA değerleri (15.94±5.17) ile tezat oluşturmaktadır. Hayvanın geç laktasyon durumunda metabolik olarak sabit hale geldiği, antioksidan göstergelerinin (MDA için 7.18±2.09 ve TAK için 2.62±0.66) ortalama değerlerinden görülmüştür.



SONUÇ: Veriler, laktasyon esnasında lipit peroksidasyonunun arttığını, ancak; bunun sadece fizyolojik duruma değil aynı zamanda bilinmeyen faktörlere bağlı olan çeşitli bireysel varyasyonlar ile gerçekleştiğini göstermektedir.

OXIDATIVE STATUS DURING EARLY AND LATE LACTATION IN SAANEN GOATS

OBJECTIVE: Metabolic profiles are widely used to monitor health, reproductive status and nutritional status. In the last few years, the detection of free radical damage and body’s defences against it have become increasingly important in clinical medicine as a complementary tool in the evaluation of metabolic status. The aim of this study was to evaluate, under field conditions, the antioxidant status of healthy saanen goats during early and late lactation onset using two parameters.


METHODS: plasma levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), a degradation product of lipid peroxidation, and total antioxidant status (TAS). We also investigated possible relationships between antioxidant status markers and other relevant blood parameters. Our results confirmed the characteristic metabolic changes associated with early and late lactation. MDA and TAS provided an accurate reflection of the internal physiological status of the animal. In addition, the combination of MDA and TAS can provide complementary information about the metabolic status of the saanen goats.


RESULTS: Thus the proper metabolic adaptation to the onset of lactation, showed by metabolic profiles, contrasts with the high levels of free radicals which cause lipid peroxidation and high MDA values (15.94±5.17) which is maintained only for a short period of time. When the animal reaches late lactation metabolic status is stabilized and this is reflected by antioxidant status with mean values of 7.18±2.09 for MDA and 2.62±0.66 for TAS values.


CONCLUSION: The data indicated increased lipid peroxidation around lactation, but with wide individual variations that may be attributable not only to the physiological stage but also to unknown factors.
