The aim of this study is to develop Problem-Based Computer-Aided Material (PBCAM) to solve learning problems during teaching Human Endocrine System and to examine how the students’ perceived problem solving skills develop through implementation of the material. The study was conducted as a case study. 43 eleventh grade students participated in the study, which was conducted at a science high school in Rize. Problem Solving Skills Scale, developed by Heppner and Peterson (1982), was used to investigate students’ perceived problem solving skills. In addition, interviews were conducted with 10 students, selected among students to examine how the students’ perceived problem solving skills develop in depth. The results of study indicated that PBCAM implementation had a significant effect on the students’ perceived problem solving skills in a positive way. Interview statements of students supported this finding. In addition, students stated that they gained certain skills especially research, communication, discussion, presentation and report preparation, collaboration and group working skills and their self-confidence enhanced during practices with PBCAM. As a result, PBCAM contributed to development of students’ perceived problem solving skills since this material enabled students to take responsibility for their learning and construct knowledge by discovery.
