Abstract

Laser trilobum (L.) Borkh.

Abstract

Laser trilobum (L.) Borkh. is a perennial herbaceous plant growing naturally in some parts of Turkey. Its dried and ground fruits are called 'Kefe kimyonu'. Kefe cumin, from which essential oil is obtained from its fruits rich in nutrients, is not cultivated in our country. In this study, the amount of essential oil obtained from the fruits of kefe cumin and the components of these essential oils were determined.
Kefe cumin (Laser trilobum) plant was obtained from Mersin region and the essential oils of its fruits were determined by clevenger aparatus and its components were determined by Gas Chromatography and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy method. According to the research findings, the essential oil rate of the plant was determined as 4.4%, and it was determined that the main components of this essential oil were d-limonene and peryl aldehyde (with a total rate of 95.36%).
