Öz

Travelbee'nin İnsan-İnsan İlişkileri teorisi, hemşirelere diğer insanlarla terapötik olarak bağlantı kurmak için gerekli temeli sağlar. Hemşirelik alanında teorinin kullanımı hemşirelik biliminin ve hemşirelik uygulamalarının gelişmesinde son derece önemlidir. Son yıllarda hemşirelik alanında kuram temelli uygulamaların daha sık kullanıldığı görülse de halen istenilen düzeye ulaşamadığı belirtilmektedir.
Bu derlemenin amacı, Amerikalı psikiyatri hemşiresi, eğitimci ve yazar Joyce E. Travelbee'nin geliştirdiği yaklaşımdan yola çıkarak hemşire-hasta ilişkisini aydınlatmaktır. Sadece Joyce E. Travelbee'nin yaklaşımında birebir ilişkiler kavramlarına odaklanan yayınlar derlemeye konu olmuştur. Bu teorinin hasta ile terapötik iletişim kurma, empati, hastayı anlama, acıda anlam bulma, ölümcül hastalar, iletişim güçlüğü çeken hastalar ve yakınları ile iletişim kurma konularında etkili bir yöntem olduğu gösterilmiştir. Küresel olarak, Joyce E. Travelbee'nin yaklaşımıyla ilgili olarak bu konuyu ele alan az sayıda çalışma bulunmaktadır. Metin analizine dayanarak, Joyce E. Travelbee'nin kişilerarası ilişkiler kurmada karşılıklı anlayışın önemini, hemşirelerin iletişim becerilerini, hemşire-hasta kalıp yargılarının üstesinden gelmeyi ve hemşirelerin ihtiyaçlarını karşılama vurgusunu vurgulamada başarılı olduğu görülmektedir. Hemşireliğin ve özellikle psikiyatri hemşireliğinin temeli sayılan iletişim ve empati konusunda alana katkı sağlamak isteyen hemşirelerin bu kuramı kullanmaları önerilebilir.

Evaluatıon And Analysıs of The Travelbee Human to Human Relatıonship Model

Öz

Travelbee's Human-Human Relations theory provides nurses the essential basics for connecting therapeutically with other people. The use of theory in the field of nursing is extremely important in the development of nursing science and nursing practice. Although it has been seen that theory-based practices are used more frequently in the field of nursing in recent years, it is stated that they still do not reach the desired level.
The aim of this review is to illuminate the nurse-patient relationship based on the approach developed by the American psychiatric nurse, educator and author Joyce E. Travelbee. Only publications focusing on the concepts of one-to-one relationships in Joyce E. Travelbee's approach have been the subject of compilation. This theory has been shown to be an effective method in establishing therapeutic communication with the patient, empathy, understanding the patient, finding meaning in suffering, communicating with terminally ill patients, patients with communication difficulties and their relatives. Globally, there are few studies addressing this issue regarding Joyce E. Travelbee's approach. Based on the text analysis, Joyce E. Travelbee appears to be successful in emphasizing the importance of mutual understanding in building interpersonal relationships, nurses' communication skills, overcoming nurse-patient stereotypes, and emphasizing nurses' needs. Nurses who want to contribute to the field of communication and empathy, which is considered the basis of nursing and especially psychiatric nursing, can be recommended to use this theory.
