Soil stabilization methods are extremely important in dealing with for geotechnics and transportation departments. The bearing capacity of the base/subbase soils may not sufficient at some planned road routes Therefore, this base/subbase soils must be completely removed and it must be applied the new base/subbase soils which are sufficient bearing capacity or one of several ground stabilization methods are applied. One of the methods of stabilizing the ground is the stabilization of the base or subbase with materials such as lime, fly ash and rubber particles. A comprehensive study has been conducted in the laboratory to investigate the availability of soils with suitable lime ratio for increasing the the low CBR values. Soil samples have been prepared at different water content (5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) and CBR tests have been carried out in order to determine the effect of water content. In addition, soil samples have been prepared at different lime content (3%, 4%, 5% and 6%) and CBR tests have been carried out in order to determine optimum values for different lime ratios.
As a result, the optimal water content for base/subbase ground have been determined to be about 10%, and the optimum lime ratio has been determined about 5%. In addition, highly correlated coefficients (R2 = 99%) have been recommended to be used in order to determine the CBR values.
