The hadiths were recorded and classified in the Mutaqaddimūn Scholars period. Later, within the framework of these works and hadiths, commentary and compilation studies were carried out. Various works have been written in order to find the hadiths in a short time, to increase the benefit of them and to make it easier. Alphabetical works that list the hadiths according to their first letter are of this type. In the contemporary period, the work named Mukhtar al-Ahadith al-Nabawiyyah wal-Hikami al-Muhammediyyah, which belongs to the Egyptian researcher writer Sayyid Ahmad Al-Hashemi, is such a work. This work, which has been translated into different languages, is taught as a textbook by various groups, especially in some madrasahs in our country. The fact that it appeals to a wide audience necessitated the examination of this work within the framework of hadith studies. The narrations in the work were examined by us, and the possible hadith source or sources of the author were studied. Since the work has the characteristics of targhib and tarhib, attention was drawn to the narrations in the work in question, only the mawzu’ ones, and such narrations were included in the study. In this context, among the narrations in Mukhtar, the narrations that al-Ghumari and al-Albani judged to be the mawzu’ were arranged and numbered in alphabetical order.
