HEMŞİRELİK ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN AFET OKURYAZARLIĞI DÜZEYLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Öz

Giriş: Bireyin ve toplumun afete karşı risk azaltma ve hafifletmeye yönelik önlem almasında, afete hazırlık ve müdahale ile afet sonrası iyileştirme faaliyetleri bağlamında doğru kararlar vermesini sağlayacak bilgi, tutum ve davranışlara sahip olmasında önemli bir başlangıç olan afet okuryazarlığının tüm sağlık profesyonellerinde yüksek düzeyde olması beklenmektedir.
Amaç: Bu çalışma üniversite eğitimine devam eden hemşirelik öğrencilerinin afet okuryazarlığını ve etkileyen etmenleri tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Yöntem: Kesitsel tipte planlanan çalışmaya bir üniversitenin hemşirelik bölümünde öğrenim gören toplam 366 kişi katılmıştır. Araştırmada iki bölümden oluşan veri toplama aracı kullanılmıştır. Birinci bölümde katılımcılara ait sosyo-demografik özellikler, ikinci bölümde ise “Afet Okuryazarlık Ölçeği (AFOY)” kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: AFOY ölçeği ortalama puan 217.28±49.57’dir. Kadın katılımcıların ve 18-21 yaş arasındaki katılımcıların afet okuryazarlıkları yüksek ve anlamlı fark oluşturmaktadır. Herhangi bir afete maruz kalan katılımcıların afet okuryazarlık düzeyi, Hazırlık, Müdahale ve iyileştirme alt boyut puan ortalamaları afete maruz kalmayan katılımcılara göre daha yüksek ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir.
Sonuç: Sonuç olarak ikamet yeri ve aile tipi afet okuryazarlığı üzerine anlamlı etki oluşturmazken; kadın cinsiyete sahip olmak, 18-21 yaş grubunda olmak ve birinci sınıfta eğitim görmek afet okuryazarlığı üzerine anlamlı fark oluşturmaktadır.
