The degree of trust of individuals in the society both towards each other and to government is one of the main determinants of social capital. It is accepted that the development of financial decentralization has a significant effect on trust in terms of strengthening the bond between the individual and the state and slowing down the alienation process of the individual. Accordingly, in the study, binary logit model analysis was applied for 18 OECD countries by using the confidence index values between the years 2011-2020 and annual data on fiscal decentralization. As a result of the study, it was determined that the trust in the government increased with the increase of fiscal decentralization in terms of expenditure.
