EXAMINATION OF TURKEY ADDRESSED EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY PUBLICATIONS IN TERMS OF CONTENT AND COOPERATION: A SCIENCE MAPPING STUDY

Öz

The aim of this study is to examine the educational technology studies in Turkey in the context of the main topics and international cooperation processes and to identify the trends in the field. The data of the research consists of the bibliographic information of the scientific texts titled “educational technology” and “instructional design” with the addressed “Turkey” in the Web of Science database between 1999-2021. A total of 351 studies were found in this date range, starting from 1999. Science mapping technique, one of the bibliographic analysis methods, was used in the research. Within this technique, co-word, co-authorship, citation bibliographic coupling analyzes were conducted. According to the results; It has been determined that the most used concepts in the keywords are "educational technology" and "instructional design", and the concept of "distance education" has begun to be studied more intensively in the field. Furthermore, the strongest interaction in terms of international cooperation in the scientific research process is experienced with the USA. This is followed by Germany and Russia. In addition to these, the institution that conducts the most study is Hacettepe University.

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı; Türkiye adresli eğitim teknolojisi çalışmalarını, başlıca çalışılan konular ve uluslararası iş birliği süreçleri bağlamında incelemek, alandaki eğilimlerin tespitini yapmaktır. Araştırmanın verilerini 1999-2021 arası dönemde Web of Science veri tabanında “Turkey” adresli, bibliyografik künyelerinde “educational technology” veya “instructional design” anahtar kelimeleri geçen bilimsel metinlerin bibliyografik bilgileri oluşturmaktadır. Yapılan taramalarda bu tarih aralığında 1999 yılından başlamak üzere toplam 351 çalışmaya rastlanmıştır. Araştırmada bibliyografik analiz yöntemlerinden bilim haritalama tekniğine başvurulmuştur. Bu teknik dahilinde de ortak kelime, ortak yazarlık ve atıf analizleri işe koşulmuştur. Sonuçlara göre; incelenen çalışmaların anahtar kelimelerinde en çok kullanılan kavramların “educational technology” ve “instructional design” olduğu, “distance education” kavramının alanda daha yoğun bir şekilde çalışılmaya başlandığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, bilimsel araştırma sürecinde uluslararası iş birliği anlamında en güçlü etkileşim ABD ile yaşanmaktadır. Bunu Almanya ve Rusya takip etmektedir. Bunlara ek olarak, en fazla araştırma üreten kurum ise Hacettepe Üniversitesidir.
