In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the approaches of research assistant doctors and midwives/nurses in a training and research hospital to vaccine hesitancy. The research is of descriptive type and was carried out on 263 participants. The data were collected under observation with a questionnaire consisting of 14 items. Of the research participants, 74.9% are women, and 57.4% are research assistant doctors, 10.3% of the participants stated that they knew all the vaccine contents, 88.1% of the research assistant doctors and 50.9% of the nurses/midwives stated that they always directed their patients to have vaccines appropriate for their risk group and age (p<0.001), 52.5% of the participants stated that those who were hesitant about vaccination were absolutely are absolutely unjustified, 50% of the staff working in the family medicine department state that they try to persuade a patient who refuses to get vaccinated until they get vaccinated, 43% state that they explain its necessity and leave it to the individual’s discretion whether to have it or not (inter-segment p=0.037). The percentage of those who regarded their knowledge level as good (86.7%) and always referred their patients to vaccination were higher than those who evaluated their knowledge level as moderate (30.5%) and poor (11.1%). Recently, the question of the most important reason for vaccine hesitancy was answered by social media (37.7%), and the question of what should be done to reduce vaccine hesitancy was to increase public education (81.0%). Higher knowledge, awareness and attitudes among healthcare professionals may be associated with higher societal and individual vaccination intentions.
