The British Empire carried out destructive activities in the Arab regions under the rule of the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century. The Hejaz region of Ottoman Empire, which attaches much importance on the process of disintegration, was lost due to a planned Arab uprising that began with the British arrangement. Neither the Ottoman State could suppress theuprising, nor it showed durability in the activities of developing resistance in the planning process of the uprising.
In this study, it has been tried to reveal the activities the British carried out to organize the Arab uprising and what methods they used in their activities. For this purpose, Lawrence's "Twenty-Seven Articles" dated August 20, 1917 published in the Arab Bulletin is examined. The recommendations of Lawrence written as a directive to the military and intelligence experts who organized the Arab uprising and worked in the region were compiled and interpreted. In our article, these activities, which formed the basis for the Arab uprising, are evaluated within the framework of Arab Nationism and British Colonialism.
