The main purpose of the study is to identify the empathic tendency level of sports trainers who work with disabled individuals and who do not work with disabled individuals. A total of 102 sports trainers who are employed at governmental schools and private schools voluntarily participated in the current study. The participants, 68 of whom are males and 34 of whom are females, have bachelor’s degree at the departments of physical education and sports teaching, coaching, sports management and recreation. The data were collected through “Empathic Tendency Scale (ETS)” developed by Dökmen (1988) and Personal Information Form prepared by the researchers. SPSS 22.0 was used in order to analyse the collected data. In the study, statistical significance point was accepted as p<0,05. For the analysis of the data, coefficient of skewness and coefficient of kurtosis were examined and the normal distribution was found out. T-test was administered in order to see whether there are any significant differences between two groups and Pearson Correlation was administered in order to identify the relationship between the age and the level of empathic tendencies gathered through the scale. According to the results, a significant difference was found between the sports trainers who work with disabled students and who do not work with disabled students (t=6,296, p<0.05). It was seen that empathic tendency levels of trainers working with disabled ones were higher than the trainers who do not work with disabled ones. Moreover, no significance difference was found in terms of gender and age. As a result; It can be said that the sports trainers who participated in the study were affected by the differences of the disabled individuals and showed more empathic tendencies compared to the sports trainers working with other individuals.
