In the global market,
keeping customers has become harder than winning them. Therefore, today's
enterprises look for ways to shorten times of supplying products, to increase
flexibility and to make massive personalized productions in order to be able to
respond faster to increasing consumer expectations. Increasing
production has become a key factor in the increasing competition environment. All of these will be easier to realize thanks to Industry
4.0, which is defined as the internet of objects. Against
this background, this study aims to study the influence of new
industrial revolution, Industry 4.0, in the world and Turkey. In the study, within the frame of Turkey’s 2023
vision, R&D expenditures in the World and Turkey, production and exportation
of high value-added, technology-intensive industrial robots and employment of
R&D personnel are studied in the scope of increasing emphasis on R&D,
innovation and high value-added, tech-intensive production and exportation that
are significant in the application of industry 4.0 and similar
industrialization alternatives. In addition, this study also aims to analyze
Turkey’s current situation, within the context of its aim of 6% export of
high-tech products in 2022, among developed and developing economies, and to
offer suggestions.
