Mazı Meşesi (Quercus infectoria) Toplarının İshale Sebep Olan Gıda Kaynaklı Bakteriler Üzerindeki Antimikrobiyal Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Öz
Önemli bir halk sağlığı sorunu olan ve özellikle çocukluk çağında yaygın olarak görülen ishalin önlenmesinde ve tedavisinde tıbbi yaklaşımların yanı sıra yöresel bazı bitkiler kullanılmaktadır. Bu bitkilerden biri olan Mazı meşesi (Q. infectoria)’nin tedavi edici etkileri nedeniyle uzun yıllardır insanlar tarafından kullanılmaktadır. Bitkinin geleneksel olarak dünyanın çeşitli yerlerinde ve Türkiye'de ishal tedavisinde kullanıldığı bilinmektedir. Sunulan bu çalışmada disk difüzyon ve kuyu difüzyon yöntemleri kullanılarak Q. infectoria'nın Esherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enteritidis bakterilerine karşı antimikrobiyal aktivitesi araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada disk difüzyon yönteminde 0.175 mg/ml, kuyu difüzyon yönteminde 1 mg/ml konsantrasyonundaki mazı meşesi topları ekstraktlarının E.coli ATCC 35218, S. aureus ATCC 29213 ve S.enteritidis ATCC 43571 bakterilerine karşı antimikrobiyal aktivitesi araştırılmıştır. Bulgulara göre en yüksek antimikrobiyal etki her üç bakteri içinde kuyu difüzyon yöntemi sonucunda ölçülmüştür (İnhibasyon zonu: E. coli 20 mm, S. enteritidis 20 mm ve S. aureus 18 mm). Disk difüzyon yöntemi mazı meşesi topları ekstraktının bakterilere karşı farklı seviyede antimikrobiyal etki gösterdiği saptanmıştır (İnhibasyon zonu: E. coli 10 mm, S. aureus 10 mm ve S. enteritidis 8 mm).
