ABSTRACT
Effect of the corner block dimension on tensile strength for T-type glued dowel joints has been studied. For this purpose, pine wood (Pinus sylvestris L.) and beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) wood were used. Specimens, measuring of 30x30x25 mm, 40x40x25 mm, 50x50x25 mm ve 60x60x25 mm corner blocks were joined with beech dowels. Polyvinylacetate (PVAc) adhesive was used in gluing of dowel and the corner blocks. Tests were carried out according to the principles of ASTM-D 1037. According to the test results, beech wood exhibited beter performance than pine wood, and 40x40x25 mm corner block was more supportive to the structure than other corner blocks.
