The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect
of tourism investment on tourism development and carbon dioxide emissions for
developing countries. For this purpose, annual data of 1995-2014 period was
tested by panel data analysis. According to the results of the analysis,
tourism investment was found to cause tourism development and decrease of
carbon dioxide emissions. On the other hand, while there is a one-way
relationship from tourism development to carbon dioxide emissions, top carbon
dioxide emissions, tourism development to tourism investments, tourism
investments to commercial openness, tourism development to commercial openness,
per capita GDP to commercial openness and open commercial openness, population
and per capita GDP a bi-directional relationship was found between the two
