Koridor Savaşları Çağında Kalkınma Yolu: Fırsatlar ve Zorluklar

Öz

Son yıllarda yaşanan küresel salgın, ABD-Çin gerilimi, iklim değişikliği, Ortadoğu’daki karışıklık gibi belirsizlikler ve küresel şoklar tedarik zincirlerini ve küresel ekonomiyi olumsuz etkileyerek küreselleşmenin sunduğu kesintisiz ticaret akışını sekteye uğratmıştır. Bu şoklarla geleneksel ticaret yolları riskli hale gelmiş ve yeni ticaret yollarına olan ihtiyaçlar ortaya çıkmıştır. Küresel jeopolitikteki değişimlerin yol açtığı karmaşık ve öngörülemez dünyada ülkeler yeni bağlantılar kurarak hem siyasi hem de ticari ilişkilerinde alan açarak nüfuzlarını artırmak istemektedirler. Bunun da en yeni aracı yatırım ve kalkınma projelerini kapsayan uluslararası ticaret koridorları ile bağlantılar kurmaktır. Bu amaçlarla son yıllarda farklı coğrafyaları kapsayan yeni ticaret koridorları ardı ardına açıklanmaya başlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’nin liderliğinde başlatılan Kalkınma Yolu Projesi’nin sunduğu fırsatlar ve zorluklar incelenmiştir. Kalkınma Yolu her ne kadar ekonomik ve siyasi açıdan istikrarsız bir coğrafyadan geçse de diğer küresel ticaret koridorlarının kavşağında yer alması ve Türkiye’nin Ortadoğu ile artan ilişkileri sayesinde hem bölgeye barış ve istikrar getirecektir hem de Türkiye’nin nüfuzunu artırmasında kaldıraç olacaktır.

The Development Road in The Age of Corridor Wars: Opportunities And Challenges

Uncertainties and global shocks such as the global pandemic, US-China tension, climate change, and turmoil in the Middle East in recent years have negatively affected supply chains and the global economy, disrupting the uninterrupted trade flow offered by globalization. By these shocks, traditional trade routes have become risky and the need for new trade routes has emerged. In the complex and unpredictable world caused by changes in global geopolitics, countries want to increase their influence by establishing new connections and opening up space in both political and commercial relations. The newest tool for this is establishing connections with international trade corridors covering investment and development projects. For these purposes, new trade corridors covering different geographies have begun to be announced one after another in recent years. In this study, the opportunities and challenges presented by the Development Road project initiated under the leadership of Turkey were examined. Although the Development Road passes through an economically and politically unstable geography, thanks to its location at the crossroads of other global trade corridors and Turkey’s strengthening ties with the Middle East, it will both bring peace and stability to the region and be a leverage in increasing Turkey’s influence.
