Anatolia, which has been the cradle of many cultures in the historical process, has been the center of a wide variety and rich traditional textile arts. Among the traditional textile arts, the art of knitting carries the characteristics of the culture, traditions, customs and traditions of the society, which is based on the knowledge and skills of individuals, can be made by hand or with simple tools, especially using natural raw materials. In addition, they are products for income-generating production that reflect the emotions, thoughts and skills of the individuals who produce them. One of the traditional knitting arts, made using cotton, wool and mohair according to the climatic conditions in every region of Anatolia, is socks knitting. In addition to the purpose of protecting people from cold and disease, the hosiery knitting also reflects the occupation, region, gender and marital status of the individuals with the motifs used on it. The motifs used in the socks acted as a communication tool. The aim of this study; is the examination of socks motifs made and still being made in the eastern Anatolia region. As a method, analysis and interpretation were made on 30 important motifs in the region where the scanning method was applied. These motifs reflect the cultural characteristics of the region.
