Internet addiction has become an increasing problem all over the world as a result of the social isolation of adolescents, especially due to the Covid-19. This study was conducted to determine the level of Internet addiction in high school adolescents and to examine Internet addiction. We conducted our research based on differences in gender and attachment style. The research was designed as a descriptive study. Our data was collected through Personal Information Form, Internet Addiction Scale (IAS) and Relational Scale Questionnaire (RAS) and the study was conducted with 1377 adolescents. The data was analyzed by using 'Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test, and Chi-Square test.The age range of the participants were from 13-19 years and the average age is 16.2 ± 1.63. The average total score of IAS is 28.8 ± 20.12. According to the IAS cut-off points; 85% of students are normal internet users, 10.8% are problematic internet users and 3.7% are internet addicts. 29.2% of the students had a secure attachment style and 70.8% have insecure attachment patterns. There is a statistically significant difference between the internet addiction scale groups according to the attachment style (p <0.001). The findings demonstrated that the majority of the students is normal Internet users and has insecure attachment style. Male students have higher scores in IAS compared to female students. Internet addiction scale scores differ according to the attachment styles and securely attached students show low levels of problematic internet use.
