Abstract

As the new Coronavirus becomes widespread around the world, precautions regarding the isolation processes have been taken in different countries depending on the national health policies, and in many countries preventing the spread was aimed by implementing practices such as individual isolation in the home environment. However, the vital effects of the virus that primarily threaten the elderly population can lead to focusing on the adult population in many studies, and the acute psychosocial needs of children outside the education and training processes can often be neglected. However, studies have reported that some unpredictable conditions such as pandemics have short and long-term negative psychosocial effects on children. In the present review study, which is written from this point of view, the possible psychosocial effects of the pandemic process on children are discussed with the related literature.

Keywords: COVID-19, pandemic, childhood, psychosocial effects.
