Sarcopenia is defined as the age-related loss of muscle mass and function. There is an increasing evidence suggesting that nutrition plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia. This review aimed to determine the nutrients that may be associated with sarcopenia in line with the current literature. Sufficient intake of protein, n-3 fatty acids, antioxidant vitamins (vitamins A, E and C) and vitamin D and some minerals (calcium, selenium, magnesium, zinc) seems to be very important in the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia.
