In this study, in the
context of 'Herzberg's Two Factor Theory', job satisfaction and motivation
levels of employees, working at four and five-star hotels in Antalya and
Ankara, are determined and the difference between motivations and job
satisfaction of employees, working for urban hotels, and employees, working for
resort hotels, are presented within the scope of work motivation and
satisfaction. For this purpose, motivation and job satisfaction questionnaires
were used in this study and using the data obtained from empirical study,
frequency analysis, percentage distribution, t-tests, Anova and Tukey tests
were performed for the statistical analysis program. In this study, it is
determined that urban hotel managers give much emphasis to external motivation
factors such as insurance and retirement facilities, physical conditions of the
working environment, support for the necessary equipment for the job when
compared to coastal hotel managers. Besides, when compared to employees working
in Ankara, employees working in Antalya have lower internal motivation because
of not being appreciated or being rewarded by their superiors when having a
good work performance or finishing the work on time. Furthermore, it has been determined
that coastal hotels employees have no affect when making decision about
relevant job issues.
