Ibn Yamin, who is one of the significant poets of Persian literature, was born in Faryûmad, a
province of Beyhak. The poet, who read poems since he was a little child, attended the notable
gatherings of the period and sang praises to them. Ibn Yamin sang his poems with a fluent, simple and
clear language; and avoided confusing words and noun phrases. Ibn Yamin, who used the Khorassan
dialect, became popular with his fragments about social and moral subjects though he was successful at
writing different types of poetry such as odes, ghazals and rubaie.
In this study, Ibn Yamîn’s ghazals in his Diwan have been analyzed by translating them from
Persina to Turkish. Flowers mentioned in the odes; such as rose, daffodil, jasmine, tulip, lotus, violet;
