LİDERLERİN NARSİSTİK KİŞİLİK ÖZELLİKLERİNİN GİRİŞİMCİ KİŞİLİK ÖZELLİKLERİ ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİNDE SOSYAL ZEKÂNIN ARACI ROLÜNE YÖNELİK BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Öz

Literatürde liderlerin narsistik kişilik özellikleri, girişimci kişilik özellikleri ve sosyal zekaları arasındaki ilişkiye yönelik sınırlı sayıda araştırma bulunmaktadır. Bu kavramlar incelenmeye değer bulunarak, bu çalışmaya konu edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, liderlerin narsistik kişilik özelliklerinin girişimci kişilik özellikleri üzerindeki etkisinde sosyal zekânın aracı rolünü tespit etmektir. Çalışmada İstanbul’daki 613 KOBİ’nin kurucu sahiplerinden, ortaklarından ve üst düzey yöneticilerinden toplanan verilere frekans dağılımı analizi, güvenilirlik analizi, açıklayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri, korelasyon analizi ve yapısal eşitlik modeli uygulanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, Narsistik Kişiliğin Sosyal Zekâ üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olduğu, Sosyal Zekânın Girişimci Kişilik üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olduğu, Narsistik Kişiliğin Girişimci Kişilik üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sosyal Zeka modele dahil edildiğinde Narsistik Kişiliğin Girişimci Kişilik üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı etkisi olmadığı için, Baron ve Kenny’e göre, Sosyal Zekânın tam aracı etkisi olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

A RESEARCH ON THE MEDIATING ROLE OF SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE EFFECT OF NARCISSTIC PERSONALITY TRAITS OF LEADERS ON THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL CHARACTERISTICS

Öz

There are limited number of studies in the literature about the correlation among narcissistic personality traits, entrepreneurial characteristics and social intelligence. These concepts were considered meaningful to be examined and were reviewed in this study. The aim of this study is to determine the role of social intelligence on the effect of the narcissistic personality traits of leaders on their entrepreneurial characteristics. Frequency distribution analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, correlation analysis and structural equation modeling were applied to the data collected from the founders, founding partners and top level managers of 613 SME’s in Istanbul. According to the findings of the study, Narcissistic Personality Traits has a statistically significant effect on Social Intelligence. Social Intelligence has a a statistically significant effect on Entrepreneurial Characteristics, and Narcissistic Personality Traits has a statistically significant effect on Entrepreneurial Characteristics. When social intelligence is included to the model, narsistic personality traitsdon’t have a statistically significant effect on entrepreneurial characteristics, so according to Barron and Kenny, social intelligence has a full mediating role on the effect of narcissistic personality traits on entrepreneurial
