The concept of hadd is a concept that has gained a term meaning in branches of science such as logic and kalam, especially in fiqh science. This term, which is widely used in fiqh in the sense of "mandatory punishments determined by Scripture (Quran) and sunnah"; In logic, kalam and usul al-fiqh, it is used in the sense of "defining the attribute of something". It is seen that the word hudud, which is the plural of the word had, is used together with the word of Allah in the form of ‘hudûdullah’ in the Quran. In this article, based on the lexical meaning of the words had and hudud, the meanings gained in various branches of science are examined and presented. In the branch of fiqh, where it is most widely used, information about the process of gaining the meaning of the known term has been shared, and the views of scholars on the relationship between the lexical meaning of word hadd and the meaning of the term are conveyed. In addition, the meanings of the concept of hadd/hudud in the Quran and hadiths have been examined in general. Accordingly, while there is no direct unity of meaning between the concept of hududullah in the Quran and the concept of had/hudud in fiqh, it is seen that the concepts of hadd/hudud in the hadith contain the termed meaning in fiqh.
