The Journal of Aging and Long-Term Care (JALTC) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the National Association of Social and Applied Gerontology (NASAG). Since its inception in 2018, JALTC has been dedicated to advancing scholarly research and evidence-based discourse on aging and long-term care. The journal is published three times a year and serves as a leading platform for interdisciplinary contributions in the field.

JALTC is the only scientific journal worldwide that is explicitly dedicated to long-term care as reflected in its name. While long-term care has become an increasingly critical global issue—both as a public health concern and a subject of policy development—academic research in this domain remains relatively underrepresented. JALTC aims to fill this gap by fostering high-quality theoretical, clinical, and empirical research that informs policy, enhances care practices, and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration.

The journal welcomes contributions from a diverse range of disciplines, including gerontology, geriatrics, nursing, social work, psychology, sociology, public health, economics, law, healthcare policy, and technology-assisted care. By integrating insights from these fields, JALTC seeks to support the development of sustainable, ethical, and high-quality long-term care systems that improve the well-being of older individuals and caregivers alike.

📌 JALTC is the official journal of NASAG.
