Aytaç Gören received Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir – Turkey in 2007. He has been in Université de Picardie Jules Verne-France as guest professor; FH-Rosenheim – Germany and TU-Vienna – Austria as guest researcher during his M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies for Solar Energy, Mobile Robots and Nanometrology. He has been involved in several research projects about industrial automation, robotics, solar cars and polymer composites which are supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey. Assist. Prof. Dr. Gören is the founder and has been leading the Solaris Solar Car Projects since 2004. Until today, his project groups designed and produced six solar cars and five electric vehicles which took part in World Solar Challenge, Turkish Solar Challenges, European Solar Challenge and Moroccan Solar Challenges. His research interests include mainly high efficient BLDC’s and drivers, EVs, AMRs, solar energy and modern control techniques. Dr. Gören is a Member of Board of Information Technologies Research and Application Center of Dokuz Eylul University. He is a reviewer in Journal of Solar Energy (Elsevier), Journal of Intelligent Service Robotics (Springer), Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control (SAGE), Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (Tubitak), Mühendis ve Makina (Chamber of Mechanical Eng.). He also took part in several international and national conferences and workshops including local organizing committee member of IFAC DECOM-TT 2007 Izmir and secretary of TOK 2011 (Turkish Automatic Control Meeting 2011). He was the Chairman of WELMO '17 which was held in Izmir in May 2017.
