SUPERPAVE VOLUMETRIC MIX DESIGN OF HOT MIX ASPHALT: CASE STUDY OF ISPARTA

Öz
The pavement design system that a generic method of designing mixtures
custom to the unique performance requirements enforced by the heavy traffic
volumes, maximum and minimum temperatures and structural part at specific
pavement section is the SUperior PERforming Asphalt PAVEment (Superpave) Mix
design. Accomplishing the needed grade of pavement performance Superpave Mix
Design enables selecting and assembling asphalt binder, aggregate. Superpave
system is practicable to raw and reclaimed, hot mix asphalt (HMA). Also,
Superpave performance tests are practicable for defining a diversity of
specialized mixtures. Superpave Mix Design thoroughly addresses the degradation
and permanent deformation and low-temperature cracking discipline owing to
material choice and mixture designing. Furthermore, it takes into consideration
moisture sensitivity impacts for supporting or striking these distresses to
improve. The objective of State of the Art is to present an overview of
Superpave volumetric mix design procedure with a case study of Isparta region
in accordance with literature.

Öz
Üstün performanslı asfalt kaplama (Superpave), ağır
trafik hacmi, bölgesel maksimum ve minimum hava sıcaklıkları ve inşa edilecek
yolun yapısal özelliklerince gereksinim duyulan performansı sağlamaya yönelik
olarak hazırlanmış bir üstyapı tasarım sistemidir. Kaplamanın performans
sınıfının belirlenmesi ile uygun bitümün ve agrega gradasyonunun seçilmesine
olanak sağlar. Superpave yöntemi ham bitümlü sıcak karışıma uygulanabildiği
gibi aynı zamanda geri dönüştürülmüş bitümlü sıcak karışımlarında da
uygulanabilir. Superpave performans testleri farklı karışımlarda da
uygulanabilir. Superpave karışım tasarımı direk olarak bozulmaları, kalıcı
deformasyonları, malzeme seçimi neticesinde düşük sıcaklıklarda oluşacak termal
çatlakları gösterir. Bunlara ek olarak nem hassasiyetini de dikkate alarak
gerekli tedbirlerin alınmasına yönelik yön gösterir. Bu incelemenin amacı,
Superpave Hacimsel Karışım Tasarımı yönteminin incelenmesi ve Isparta örneği
üzerinde değerlendirilmesidir.
