Adolescent pregnancies continue to be a major health problem in both developed and developing countries. Adolescent pregnancies socioeconomically may lead to development of unwanted situations in the long term in mother and her infant. Obstetrical complications and the perinatal mortality rate have increased in these pregnancies, and to take the necessary precautions to prevent unplanned adolescent pregnancies is very important. Another problem is the lack of early and adequate prenatal care. The aim of this review is to provide information about the situation in our country and the world, and to create awareness among clinicians for adolescent pregnancy and pregnancy complications that may be developed.
