It is inevitable that the enterprises, which have to work under intense competition, should make more profit than the average and turn to the strategic areas that will ensure their longevity in order to ensure sustainability. For this reason, businesses should find ways to increase their values by showing more than the interest they have in their resources to date. The most important source of the resources is the human resources. Core corpedence, which has a major contribution to gaining competitive advantage over other enterprises, is focused around human resources. Human resources are the most important core competence that an enterprise can provide competitive advantage over other enterprises. In order to gain an advantageous position in today's competitive environment, it is necessary for every company to select the human resources they have in their hands, to make them unique with their training and development aspects and to see them as valuable. However, the development of human resources must be continuous during this process.
Sustainable human resource management can demonstrate the steps required by the human resource of the enterprise to remain a core competence that always provides a competitive advantage. Thanks to sustainable human resources management, the development process of the human resources will be sustained and thus the enterprise will have the support to achieve its strategic goals.
Corporate sustainability, which is very important for enterprises to guarantee their future, can direct businesses from economic, social and environmental aspects. A sustainable business can be regarded as an important value passed on to future generations. For this reason, businesses are able to fulfill the goals of future generations by giving more importance to the concept of sustainability than it is yesterday. The key to achieving long-term goals of enterprises is to work towards achieving a certain level of welfare in the physical, economic and social aspects of the individuals they employ. Sustainable human resources management can provide the necessary support to achieve this goal.
The aim of the study is to determine to what extent the subjects on which sustainable human resources management focuses are included in the sustainability reports prepared by companies included in the BIST Sustainability Index. In this context, the sustainable human resources management studies of the enterprises, which are included in the index and have prepared sustainability reports in accordance with GRI standards, have been analyzed using content analysis method.
