Bu
çalışmada laboratuvar kullanımı için hafif, portatif yüzey taşlama makinasının
tasarımı ve imalatı yapılmıştır. Taşlanacak parçaların tutulması için manyetik
tabla kullanılmıştır. Makinanın x, y ve z eksenlerindeki hareketi kontrol için
CNC teknolojisi uygulanmıştır. Makinanın gövdesinde balpeteği ve metalik
malzeme kullanılarak hafiflik ve esnemezlik artırılmıştır. Sonlu elemanlar
analizi yapılarak sistemin sehim ve gerilme analizi yapılmıştır. Taşlama
koşulları altında, en yüksek sehim <0.01 mm olmuştur. Soğutma sistemi
kullanılarak parçanın ısınması önlenmiştir. Yapılan deneylerde, taşlanmış
parçalar üzerinde düzlemsellik ve yüzey pürüzlülüğü ölçülmüş ve beklenen
sınırlar altında kaldığı görülmüştür.
