With the improvement of technology, there is an increase in audiovisual products. The improvement of this sector also creates the need for translation in this field. In addition to literary works, audiovisual translation, which is a different field, has its own parameters and rules. Although there are more than ten methods of audiovisual translation, the two main translation methods are subtitling and dubbing. The content of this study is limited to Turkish and Arabic subtitle translations. Humor, which shows its presence in every field in daily life, forms the basis of this study. Although many scientists have various definitions of humor, no agreement has yet been achieved on a single definition. Humor is used especially intensively in audiovisual products. Many translation scholars have proposed various classifications for humorous scenes in audiovisual products. However, in order to classify humorous scenes in animated films as well as TV series and movies, a more specific classification method should be used. In this sense, after the humorous scenes in the Ice Age animated film series are categorized using Isabel Pascua and Bernadette Rey-Jouvin’s humor classification, the Turkish and Arabic subtitle translations of the data obtained are evaluated descriptively using Jorge Díaz-Cintas and Aline Remael’s subtitle translation strategies. In the context of this humor classification, it is seen that linguistic references are used extensively in the animated film and the literal translation strategy comes to the fore among subtitle translation strategies.
