Akdeniz ekosistemindeki merada otlatmaya kapatmanın bazı fizikokimyasal toprak özelliklerine etkisi

Öz

Otlatma toprak bozulmasının esas nedenlerinden birisidir. Bu araştırmanın amacı 42 yıl süreyle korunan ve otlatılan meradaki bazı fizikokimyasal toprak özelliklerini karşılaştırmaktır. Çanakkale’nin Karacaören Köyü’ndeki korunan ve otlatılan meranın herbirisinden merayı temsil edecek rastgele 12 parsel oluşturulmuştur. Parsellerden rastgele örnekleme yöntemine göre toprak örnekleri  alınmıştır. Toprak örneklerinde bazı fizikokimyasal analizler(hacim ağırlığı, penetrometre direnci, bünye, pH, elektriksel iletkenlik ve organik madde) yapılmıştır. Yapılan istatistik analiz sonucunda otlatılan meraya göre korunan meradaki toprak örneklerinde daha fazla kil, elektriksel iletkenlik ve organik madde saptanmasına rağmen daha az hacim ağırlığı, penetrometre direnci, kum ve pH saptanmıştır. Otlatmanın olumsuz etkilerini azaltmak için toprak iyileştirme yöntemleri uygulanmalıdır.

Effect of Grazing Exclusion on Certain Physicochemical Properties of Soil in the Rangelands of Mediterranean Ecosystem

Öz

Livestock grazing is one of the main causes of land degradation. The aim of this research is to compare some physicochemical properties of soil of the rangelands have been protected and grazed for the last 42 years. A total of 12 experimental plots were selected randomly to represent each of the protected and grazed rangelands situated in the Karacaören Village of Çanakkale Province. Soil samples were taken from the experimental plots by using the randomly sampling method from protected as well as the grazed rangelands. Some physicochemical properties (bulk
density, penetrometer resistance, texture, pH, electrical conductivity, and organic matter) of soil samples have been performed. As a result of the statistical analysis, although more clay, electrical conductivity and organic matter were detected in the soil samples taken from the protected rangelands as compared to those soil samples which were obtained from grazed rangelands in which less bulk density, penetrometer resistance, sand and pH were determined. Soil improvement methods should be applied to minimize the negative effects of grazing.
