The aim of this study is to determine the extent to which individuals' demographic characteristics such as gender, age and marital status are affected by the financial risk tolerance and to provide information about similarities and differences of financial risk tolerances between Turks and Azeris. A total of 430 questionnaires were implemented to the students, academic and administrative staff of IGDU and Baku State Economic University students to carry out this aim. The results of the questionnaires were interpreted with ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis H, Mann Whitney U tests and multiple regression analysis. The results of analysis reveal that in comparison with Azerbaijan, in Turkey financial risk tolerance of men is greater than women and in comparison with Azerbaijan, in Turkey financial risk tolerance of the singles is greater than the marrieds. No meaningful findings could be reached related to age factor.
