Developments
in the technologies used in health services production change the behavior of
patients and their relatives and health professionals using these techniques.
It is important for the nurses who have an indispensable place in the
professional health team to make an effort to understand the technology and discover
how to use it. Developments in technology aim to help nurses perform their
duties and provide more efficient and safe care for patients. It is clear that
the technological developments of the future will have serious effects on the
nurses even if they do not. Nurses will transfer routine jobs in the future and
spend more time on complex tasks such as care. This will affect the quality of
care positively as well as reduce the need for today's nursing to a certain
extent of robotic devices with artificial intelligence technology taking over
some jobs. Because it is very difficult to model compassion and empathy to
machines, it is predicted that the most important area where robots will be
limited will be emotional dimension. This review is written in order to explain
the problems, opinions and suggestions related to the effects of humanoid
robots on professional nursing practices in the light of technological
developments.
