DOĞAL BAŞ POZİSYONU VE BELİRLEME YÖNTEMLERİ: LİTERATÜR DERLEMESİ

Günümüz
ortodontik tedavi yaklaşımlarında sert dokularda elde edilecek değişimlerden
öte, hastaların yumuşak dokularının tedavi süresindeki değişimleri önem arz etmektedir.
Geçmişten bugüne teşhis ve tedavi planlamasında kullanılan ve kısmen
geçerliliklerini kaybeden intrakraniyal referans noktaları, hastadan hastaya
değişiklik gösteren anatomik varyasyonlar nedeniyle tedavi planını ve
dolayısıyla tedavi sonucunu olumsuz etkileyebilir. Güncel yaklaşım ise estetik
hedeflerin doğru belirlenebilmesi için yüz yapılarının gerçek zamanlı görünümüne
öncelik vermektedir. Yumuşak dokularda meydana gelmesi istenen değişikliklerin
ne yönde yapılacağının anlaşılması için kişinin baş ve yüz konumunun statik ve
dinamik hareketler grubunda sergilediği pozisyonlar önemlidir. Doğal baş
pozisyonunu (DBP) değerlendirmek için farklı metotlar kullanılmış ve bu anlamda
ilk olarak statik yöntemler geliştirilmiştir. Statik yöntemler belirli bir süreçteki
hareketler bütünü olan DBP’yi ölçmede yetersiz kalabilmektedir. Daha sonra
kullanılmaya başlanılan dinamik DBP belirleme yöntemleri de zamanla
geliştirilmiş ve statik-dinamik yöntemlerin kombinasyonları öne çıkmıştır. Bu
derlemede DBP belirleme yöntemleri, geçmişten bu yana genel bir bakış açısı
içinde anlatılacaktır.
