Historiography in Islamic culture and civilization started in the first century after the passing of the Prophet Muhammed and has continued to develop until today. Islamic historiography has enabled the emergence of various types of history due to its cumulative progression. The City's historical artifacts which one of the types of historiography in Islamic culture and civilization that is important as it is a product of this accumulation. In this essay, who is from one of the early Islamic city historians Ebū Zakarīyā’ Yazīd b. Muhammad b. Iyās b. al-Qāsim Al-Azdī's life and his book titled Ta'rīkh Al-Mawṣil within the framework of the history of Mosul are discussed. During the study, some analysis regarding the content and method of work is mentioned, and we draw attention to usage of resources for Ta'rīkh Al-Mawṣil. Consideration has been made based on the way using the resources used the holy Quran, hadith sheriff, poetry, historical documents like about the historiography of Al-Azdī. Following this, the portraits of the caliphs, governors and judges mentioned in the book are emphasized. In the last part our study, the critical edition of Ta'rīkh Al-Mawṣil which is made by ‘Alī Habība has been discussed and contributes to understanding the information with footnotes written by Habība in the work that has been examined.
