One of the most important elements that make up the history of societies is language, and one of the indispensable elements of language is idioms. Translating idioms that are more common in the metaphorical sense into another language can be more difficult compared to other translations. The most important method of overcoming this challenge is to master both languages. In this study, the idioms of the Arabic translation of Mustafa Kutlu’s story “Ya Tahammül Ya Sefer” by Muhammad Suleiman, one of the last writers of Turkish storytelling, were examined. Idioms in the source book were identified and compared with translations of these idioms in Arabic. This comparison was made within the framework of the idiom translation strategies of Mona Baker, a specialist in translation techniques. Idioms were classified and evaluated according to Baker’s translation strategies.
