Öz

Bu makale birincil olarak küresel şehir endekslerinin
şehirleri tasnifi üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Makale iki bölümden oluşmaktadır.
Birinci bölüm küreselleşme ve küresel şehir kavramını ele almış ve küreselleşme
sürecinde şehirlerin durumu ile ilgili konuları irdelenmiştir. İkinci bölüm ise
küresel şehir endekslerini incelemektedir. Küresel şehirleri ele alan bu
endekslerin en kapsamlı olan beş tanesi çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır.
Üzerinde durulan bu endekslerin hazırlanışı ve içerdiği bilgilerin yanında
şehirlerin sıralanışında bulundukları konumlar üzerinde durulmaktadır.
Makalenin nihayetinde ise Türkiye’den bu sıralamalarda yer alan şehirlerin üst
sıralarda yer alabilmesinde faydalı olacak görüşler öne sürülmüştür.

A View of Cities in The Global City Indices

Öz

This
article focuses on the classification of cities from the perspective of global
city indices. The article consists of two chapters. The first part deals with
the concept of globalization and global city and the issues related to the
situation of cities in the process of globalization are examined. The second
section examines global city indices. Five of the most comprehensive indices
covering global cities constitute the subject of the study. In addition to the
preparation of these indices and the information they contain, the positions of
the cities are listed. In the end of the article will be beneficial in enabling
located in the upper row of the cities involved in the ranking from Turkey have
been put forward opinions.
