Quality of textbooks and according to level of the students are great importance. The purpose of this research is to measure readability level of texts in 5th grade Turkish textbooks. For this, Ateşman and Uzun-Çetinkaya's readability formulas was used. In 5th grade Turkish text books average word and sentence length, readability level of difficulty and it tried to determine radability level of difficulity to change of narrative and expository. The research was designed in survey research. The sample of the study is published by the Ministry of Education, Koza Publications, Ada Press, Engin Publications and Özgün Publications 5th grade Turkish textbooks, 100 text. The results obtained after applying formulas, each two relative to were analyzed. According to the results of the study determined that the narrative easier than expository in terms of readability.
