The aim of this study is to investigate internet addiction risk of high school students. Withdrawal, controlling difficulty, disorder in functionality and social isolation dimensions were researched during the investigation of internet addiction risk of high school students. In this study, daily internet usage durations of students were considered and differentiations on withdrawal, controlling difficulty, disorder in functionality and social isolation dimensions were investigated depending on the internet usage. The universe of the research includes high school students studying in TRNC. The sample selected through the criterion sampling method consists of 38 % (n=194) female, 62 % (n=317) male and total 511 high school students. The “Online Addiction Scale” developed by Günüç (2009) and “Personal Information Form” prepared by the researcher were used. According to the findings of this investigation, major part of the high school students enrolled in the investigation were determined to be in risk group and threshold group in terms of internet addiction. Statistically significant difference between withdrawal, controlling difficulty, disorder in functionality and social isolation points regarding internet addiction was determined depending on daily internet usage duration. As a result of the findings of this study, advice was given to the researchers.
