The aim of this research is to determine the lifelong learning
tendencies of secondary school teachers and compare them with various
variables. In the research, the following questions have been answered. 1. What
is the level of life-long learning tendencies of secondary school teachers? 2.
Do the lifelong learning tendencies of secondary school teachers significantly
differ according to the demographic variables? 3. Is there a meaningful relationship
between subscales of the scale? This research is in the instant scanning model.
The scale of the research constitutes a total of 1602 secondary school teachers
who are in secondary schools in the centre of Elazığ and its districts for the
academic year of 2017-2018. The sample is composed of 382 teachers determined
by simple random sampling. In the research, the scale of "Lifelong
Learning Trends" (YBÖEÖ) developed by Diker Coşkun and Demirel (2009) is
used as the data collection tool. According to findings of this study, the
tendency of secondary school teachers to lifelong learning in the motivation
sub-dimension at the level of “much fits”, while it is “partially fits” in the
sub-dimensions of deprivation in learning regulation, persistence, lack of
curiosity and in the whole scale.
