Especially the European societies that emerged from the late Middle Ages tried to get to know the region. The Russians, who emerged in Eastern Europe from the end of the 16th century, thought of controlling the region for a long time, and for this purpose, they tried to get to know the region by sending many state officials to the Bukhara Khanate, the central khanate of the region. The Russian state was also interested in the region. During the Russian occupation of Turkestan, travelers with military status were sent to collect information about the region. Although they must be handled with care, they remain one of the most important gateways to gaining accurate information about the period. Turkestan is the large area where Turks live. When we look at the map of the world, we see that there is no country called Turkestan. Turkestan has been a bridge between the Far East and the West since the early periods. As a result, the aim of this study is to examine Turkestan by Russian travelers.
