Providing treatment and care in patients' homes can
accelerate the patient's recovery and is a more ethical process of neglect and
abuse. This makes it important to examine the ethical sensitivity and knowledge
of patient rights of healthcare workers, especially those working at home. The
ethical sensitivity and knowledge of patient rights of 110 home care students
were examined. In this research, the Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire and the
Patient Rights Knowledge Questionnaire prepared by the researchers were used as
a measurement tool. According to the findings of the study, it is seen that
female students are more knowledgeable about patient rights than men, and men
can provide orientation more easily than women. In our study, it was seen that
advancing age increased ethical sensitivity and orientation. In addition, it
was determined that ethical sensitivity and orientation increased with
increasing patient rights knowledge level. According to our research results;
Because of the linear relationship between patient rights and ethical
sensitivity, it is recommended that all health workers, especially in the home
care area, increase their knowledge on patient rights through courses to be
included in the curricula of vocational education and health education
students.
