This research, the relationship between the Abstract Expressionism movement that emerged in New York after the Second World War with the aim of exploring the expression of emotions with reflection, randomness and impressive color spaces and the Analytical Psychology Theory of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung, which influenced this movement was examined. With the rise of fascism in the 1930s and the beginning of the resulting war, many artists who formed an identity for themselves with their freedom of expression, pictorial identities and theories of automatism started a new school called Abstract Expressionism in New York. These artists are from Jung's Theory of Analytical Psychology; Influenced by their explanations of the creative process, the psyche, the personal unconscious, the collective unconscious, and archetypes, they developed a new approach to representing the inner world from various sources. The negative experiences and chaos after the Second World War caused artists to form a meaningful link between Jung's Theory of Analytical Psychology and artistic pursuits. In the research, literature review, one of the qualitative research techniques, was used. Within the scope of the research, the works of the important representatives of the Abstract Expressionism movement; within the scope of the Analytical Psychology Theory developed by Jung, the ego, personal unconscious, collective unconscious and archetype categories were analyzed by psychoanalytic criticism method. As a result of the research, it was concluded that Jung's Analytical Psychology expansions deeply affected the Action and Color field painting within the Abstract Expressionism movement.
