Organizations, which are an open system in our globalizing world, are more or less affected by all environmental developments because they are more sensitive to the environment. All organizations, from the smallest business to the strongest government, should always be on the lookout for potential crises. Otherwise, crises can even mean the danger of extinction for organizations. The reporting of pneumonia cases of unknown cause in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, was the starting signal of one of the biggest crises in human history. Covid-19 is undoubtedly a pandemic epidemic that has had its effects all over the world. This epidemic reminded all organizations around the world to review their crisis management planning. As a matter of fact, countries that did not take adequate measures against the crisis, or were delayed in taking them, were highly affected by the crisis. The aim of this study was to evaluate how the Republic of Turkey met the Covid- 19 crisis and how they implemented the crisis management planning of the pandemic. In this context, ideal crisis management principles proposed by various authors have been determined in the light of studies on crisis and crisis management in the literature. In addition, the qualifications that should be found in spokespersons during the crisis period were added to the study. In the light of all these findings, the actions of the Government of the Republic of Turkey during the epidemic process were subjected to examination. For the analysis, the period from the outbreak of the crisis in the world until 11 July 2020 was considered. In Turkey, which can see the signals of the crisis in a timely manner and take measures in parallel, the epidemic was met more controlled than in other countries. As a result of the study, it was concluded that Turkish Government carried out a very successful crisis management process, at least in the first seven months of the epidemic, that is, in the moment of crisis.
