THE APPLICATION AND RESEARCH CENTERS WORKING ON READING CULTURE AND CHILDREN’S LITERATURE IN THE WORLD

Öz

The aim of this study is to describe reading culture, children's books and children's literature activities carried out by application and research centers all over the world. Document analysis method was used in the research. The data sources are websites that share information about the activities of 37 application/research centers and 3 associations/communities from 21 countries. The data collected from these web pages were analyzed through descriptive coding method. As a result of this analysis the data is classified under Purpose, Education, Research, National/International Links, Promotion/Publicity categories and their subcategories. As a result of this research, it has been understood that the centers and associations can take an active role in the supporting of reading culture, researching children's books and children's literature and researchers working in this field. It has been observed that some of the centers are established by a university unit or work in cooperation with a university. Limited number of centers carry out independent studies. It has been determined that the centers carry out studies for families, teachers, researchers and writers as well as children and young people.

DÜNYADA OKUMA KÜLTÜRÜ VE ÇOCUK EDEBİYATI ALANLARINDA ÇALIŞAN UYGULAMA VE ARAŞTIRMA MERKEZLERİ

Öz

Bu araştırma; Türkiye ve dünyadaki okuma kültürü, çocuk kitapları ve çocuk edebiyatı bağlamında çalışmalar yapan uygulama ve araştırma merkezlerinin yürüttüğü etkinlikleri ve çalışmaları betimlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada doküman analizi yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Veri kaynakları 21 ülkeden 37 uygulama/araştırma merkezi ve 3 derneğin/topluluğun gerçekleştirdiği çalışmalara ilişkin bilgilerin paylaşıldığı resmi internet sayfalarıdır. Bu sayfalarda paylaşılan bilgilerden elde edilen veriler betimsel kodlama yoluyla çözümlenmiştir. Bu çözümleme sonucunda elde edilen veriler: Amaç, Eğitim, Araştırma, Ulusal/Uluslararası Bağlantılar, Tanıtım/Yayınlaştırma kategorileri ve bunlara ait alt kategoriler altında sınıflandırılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda merkez ve derneklerin okuma kültürü, çocuk kitapları ve çocuk edebiyatı alanının gelişmesi ve bu alanda çalışan araştırmacıların desteklenmesinde etkin rol alabildiği anlaşılmıştır. Merkezlerin bazılarının bir üniversite çatısı altınca hizmet verdiği, bunların dışında kalanlarınsa bir üniversiteyle iş birliği içinde çalıştığı görülmüştür. Az sayıda merkez ise bağımsız çalışmalar yürütmektedir. Merkezlerin çocuklarla gençlerin yanı sıra aileler, öğretmenler, araştırmacılar ve yazarlar için çeşitli çalışmalar yürüttüğü belirlenmiştir.
